Rod Rod Rod

Know your all probably thinking Rod Rod Rod how can this be?

Rod Jackman was easily my favorite health teacher at Pleasant Grove High School. View the video below and you'll understand why.

Jackman played this song for us when we were learning about drugs haha. This was probably my favorite lesson of the entire year!

Isn't this the greatest thing you've seen all day?

Enjoy!

Top 10

This is a list of my top 10 FAVORITE country songs right now...

*For each of the songs I also added my favorite verse

1. With Out You by Keith Urban

- The travelling, the singing, it don’t mean nothing without you

The fast cars, the guitars, they are all just second to, This life, this love that you and I have been dreaming of, for so long

It’d all be as good as gone, without you.

2. Colder Weather by Zac Brown Band

- It's a shame about the weather

But I know soon we'll be together

And I can't wait till then

I can't wait till then...

3. Stuck Like Glue by Sugarland

-Absolutely no one who knows me better

No one that can make me feel so good

How did we stay so long together

When everybody

Everybody said we never would

And just when I start to think they’re right That love has died...

4. Put You In A Song by Keith Urban

- I wanna put you in my car and drive

And turn you up real loud, roll down all the windows and shout it out

I love this girl oh

If I could press play, repeat how happy I’d be

Wherever I go I’d have you there with me

You’d be right where you belong

I wanna put you in a song...

5. Back to December by Taylor Swift

- It turns out freedom ain’t nothing but missing you

Wishing I'd realized what I had when you were mine

I go back to December turn around and change my own mind

I go back to December all the time.

6. If I Die Young by The Band Perry

- Lord make me a rainbow

I’ll shine down on my mother

She'll know I’m safe with you

When she stands under my colors

Oh and life ain't always what you think it ought to be

No ain't even gray

But she buries her baby

The sharp knife of a short life

Well I’ve had just enough time...

7. This by Darius Rucker

- Got a baby girl sleeping in my bedroom

And her mama laughing in my arms

There's the sound of rain on the rooftop

And the game's about to start

8. Felt Good On My Lips by Tim McGraw

-Said her name was a hand me down name

From the side of a family that long ago came

Over here on a boat from somewhere in Spain

Sounded to me just a little bit strange, I guess.

But I have to admit, it felt good on my lips.

9. Let Me Down Easy by Billy Currington

-There's a little moonlight dancing on the sand

There's a warm breeze blowing by the ocean as you're taking my hand

You need to know, where I'm standing now

That I'm right on the edge of giving into you

Baby, it's a long way down

10. A Little Bit Stronger by Sara Evans

-Woke up late today,And I still feel the sting of the pain,

But I brush my teeth anyway,

Got dressed through the mess, and put a smile on my face

I got a little bit stonger

Now before you leave me a dirty comment,

because you hate country, listen to some of these songs!

I'll tell you straight up people

...

I'm a Little Bit Country

Dancing

Congratulations JUST DANCE!

I teach 2 competition teams at Just Dance Studio in AF. I teach a 7 year old group and a 9 year old group. This past weekend they competed for the first time in Logan. Both of the teams took first place in their dances and my 7 year old group took 1st place overall in the novelty division. I am so proud of how hard my little dancers have worked!

Below, is my 7 year old team! This picture was actually taken last year but I teach the same girls this year, they just have different costumes.

My Foot

Yeah I know these are gross, but a lot of people have asked me to post pictures! My foot is starting to turn purple now but it was blue like this for the first 3 days. The swelling has gone down quite a bit which is good :). Enjoy

Oh March

The month of March brings pretty flowers, rain showers, and joy! These things are all wonderful...until I have my annual bone break. For those of you who don't know my average March let me tell you how they have been for the past 3 years.

March 2009

I fractured the sesamoid bone at the head of my first meta tarsal bone. I actually had no idea the bone was broken until about 2 weeks after I broke it. I was running one day with Anna and my foot started hurting and so I went to the doctor and said that I had shattered my sesamoid bone.

March 2010

I crushed my L5 lumbar vertebra. This actually happened on December 26th but I was still down in March. This happened while sledding up at Tibble Fork. Sometimes my subconscious says "Jammie don't sled down that hill on a piece of plastic" but I don't listen. Good news though my back heeled very nicely and I have no reoccurring conditions :).

March 2011

That brings us to this year! Last night I went to get Chris from work and as I was leaving Kneaders I stepped off the curb and broke the base of the 5th metatarsal bone on my left foot. This was a very unpleasant experience and it is black and blue today! I'm feeling pretty stupid right now. The doctor said that he was probably going to put me in a hard cast on Monday.

WHAT COLOR CAST SHOULD I GET?

Next March Chris said that he was going to wrap me in bubble wrap and not let me leave the house. This is probably the best idea I have heard in a long time. After all, I am tired of broken bone March.

Shoes VS Jeans

I was thinking about something very interesting today that I would like to share. Last night I went to Forever Young shoes and bought myself two new pairs of flats. When I was trying on my shoes the sales lady asked me for my size and I replied "I am a size 8 and have been since I was in Jr. High" the lady then replied "...isn't it funny how you can stay the same shoe size for almost your entire life but then you decide to eat a snickers bar and you go up a whole jean size?" I thought this was hilarious. I swear if I eat anything that has sugar in it I go up 2 pant sizes!

Let me tell you why shoes are better than jeans: 1. If you eat that snickers bar your not going to go up a shoe size. 2. Your flab (most likely) will never topple over the edges of your shoes. 3. You always look cute in shoes. 4. Shoes are generally cheaper than jeans. 5. You get a lot more compliments on your shoes that your jeans. *One of my new pairs of shoes CAUTION Just because you wear really cute high heel shoes this DOES NOT mean that you get to put a bump it in your hair. I see this all to often...unfortunately! "From flat to fabulous" are you kidding me? There is nothing fabulous about this haha! Thanks for checking in Jammie and Chris Hawkins

Malawi's Pizza

The other night Chris and I got to go on a date with Britton and Abbie. They are getting married on June 4 2011. Chris and Britton served in the Portland Oregon mission together and Abbie was the girl waiting at home...just like me! Abbie and I became friends through facebook and it's been so fun getting to know Britton and Abbie as a couple. I'm so excited that they are getting married because Chris and I don't have very many married friends to hang out with. Anyways, we went to this place in Orem called Malawi's Pizza (it's located where the old Magelby's used to be in the River Bottoms) and it was delicious. Here are a few reasons why you should eat there.

First off, the atmosphere is amazing. It is absolutely beautifully decorated inside. It is also very big. It is great for big and small groups alike. Second, ordering. I loved how they have it set up to order. The menu is posted behind the counters and you can order from three different registers. It seemed to me that one was always available-so you didn't have to wait Third, the food! I absolutely loved the food! Chris tried the pizza and I tried the pasta! What I loved most was that ALL their food is completely fresh! They have a clear glass that you can look through to see all the fresh food and the cooks while they prepare it. They had specialty pizza's, sauces, pasta's, dessert pizzas, and salads. It was amazing! Fourth, donations. For every meal that Malawi's Pizza sells they donate a meal to starving families in Malawi. It felt good to know that my money was not only being used for a delicious meal, but it was also helping someone :). I would defiantly recommend Malawi's Pizza to anyone! Thanks for the fun night Britton and Abbie Love the Hawkins

Chris say's I am the best cook around

Hola Amigos

The other night for dinner I thought that I would make enchiladas. Feeling overly creative that evening I decided to make the enchiladas my own way and stray from the recipe. I took original corn tortillas and wiped them down with butter and then filled them with cheese. I then proceeded to wrap the enchiladas and add enchilada sauce mixed with El Pado. I smothered the cheese filled tortillas with my special sauce and I threw them in the oven. Having no idea how these things were going to taste I hurried and made hamburger so that we could have tacos if they were disgusting. The buzzer went off and frankly I was scared to see what my contraption had turned into. I slowly opened the oven and WALLAH.....my enchiladas looked incredible!

Don't those look freaking good?
(well they were)

When Chris came home dinner was on the table ready to be eaten. He took a bite of my enchiladas and said "...wow Jammie these are really really good..." Now maybe he was just being nice but it sure made me feel good and he wiped his plate clean. All that I know is that he is getting these delightful beauties for dinner again tonight :).
