I'm Learning ;)

A couple of days ago I decided to go grocery shopping for our brand new apartment. We needed groceries right away because Chris is living in our apartment and I didn't want him to starve to death. I decided to go to Wal Mart to make my purchases and before I knew it my cart was FULL. I got the basic essentials which included butter, milk, cereal, frozen pizza, mac and cheese, and a few other extremely healthy foods to fill our cupboards with haha :). I felt so proud of myself walking out of Wal Mart that day! I had purchased, pretty much, all the basic food items that a human would need to sustain life on their own (I even did it within a reasonable price). After all the groceries were put away at the apartment my mom came over to see what I had done with the place. She began looking through the cupboards and a very puzzled look appeared on her face. She turned to me and said "Jammie, where are all of your plates and utensils?" I thought for a moment and said "Mom, I FORGOT about those things! They have always just been in the cupboard my entire life". This may seem like a blond moment but what it really boils down to is taking things for granted. I never could have imagined what goes into starting a family. The simplest things such as buying utensils makes all the difference in whether your cute fiance gets to eat dinner or not.

When it was all said and done my mom and I laughed about the situation. She told me a similar story that had happened to her when she was getting ready to be married! I'm so grateful for my parents who have provided for me all these years. I'm very excited to take the things that I have learned from them and implement them into my own family. Thank you dad, mom and riley for lessons learned and many more to come :).

Moral of this story: Don't take things for granted (especially silverware and
plates haha...i'm serious)

It's so true! And even things like toothpaste and toilet paper I took for granted when living with my parents! Oh girl I am sorry I wasn't able to make it to your Bridal Shower but I am hoping to be there at your reception! I love your invites! I can't believe your getting married so soon! You will love it!

I totally know how you feel! My mom used to put together cleaning supplies as a bridal shower gift! It's the stuff you never think of and then she'd put it all in a laundry basket.

As you were writing about plates, I was thinking "hope someone tells her she is going to need some pot and pans for him to cook the mac and cheese :)
